Appearance: The body in which Chika Kuramoto had when she transported to Manhattan was not her true body, but the one of her online game persona, Alkaid. In this form, she’s 5”1 and slim with an almost petite body, but do not let this fool you. Her shoulder-length hair is a rich shade of red with long wisps always flying about as she moves, and her golden eyes are usually gleaming with determination. Tattoos can be found along her arms as well as her neck. Her upper-body clothing is tightly fitted and accentuates her generous bust, and her trailing layers of flowing cloths and upright fan on her back always seems to catch the eyes of others. She also sports black pants tucked into leggings attached to her sandals, completing her Asian-styled look.

Personality: Direct and straightforward, Alkaid is the one to talk with to hear an honest opinion. She prizes teamwork, loyalty, strength, and pride above all else. She won’t let you down if she can help it. As an enemy, she is unafraid to show her hatred. If someone threatens the pride of either her or her friends, prepare for an endless nightmare of seething glares and explosive insults and accusations. She hates it when the strong pick on the weak, and is unafraid to face a stronger opponent down. Battling is in her nature, and it shows in her proud outlook. However, she is not one to go solo unless she needs to, as she thinks highly of working together as a team. She’s a sweet girl once you get to know her, and very helpful, too.

Abilities: Even though her real-life self has no actual combative knowledge, she has surprisingly inherited the skills of her online persona. She would do well in a fist fight, but her true strength lies in the art of dual swords. Speed is her middle name when you get right down to it. Alkaid is also talented at motivating her team members and encouraging them to work together. She is quite capable of being a leader if she wanted to be one.

Weaknesses: Sometimes her feelings get so strong that they overcome her. She doesn’t bottle them up, but the way she can explode can make others assume that she does. Her straightforward personality is admired by some, but it is also seen as highly irritating by many others. Her bluntness can make people feel out of place or cause them to despise her, especially if she’s coming off as bossy at the same time. She’s also known for her rude nature towards others she doesn’t like.

Alkaid also hates, hates, HATES to lose. It’s a huge blow to her pride if she fails in any way. Any loss releases a flood of bitterness and contempt, be it towards others or herself.


Manhattanite or outsider? Outsider

History: When Chika Kuramoto signed into the online game called “The World”, she created a red-haired character and named her Alkaid. Alkaid rose to the top by quickly improving her skills and exuding true strength. She even gained the prized title in the player-versus-player fighting arena as Demon Palace Emperor. She was strength incarnate, and she was at the top of the world. Alkaid was automatically allowed into Icolo, a prestigious guild for current and past arena emperors. Things were going great for her.

In Icolo, she developed a friendship with another emperor, Sirius. Sirius became a close companion and also someone she developed a mild crush on.

Everything was shattered once her title as Demon Palace Emperor was challenged by an up-and-coming solo player, Endrance. The battle was over as soon as it began when he confronted her, defeating the proud warrior with one attack. Alkaid was furious and was fierce in her belief that Endrance cheated.

She re-entered the arena to challenge Endrance and regain her title, but she was defeated by Haseo in the preliminaries, adding another person to her hate list. He had defeated her the same way Endrance did, leading her to believe that he was a dirty, good-for-nothing cheater as well.

As the days passed, every time she ran across Haseo, she never missed the chance to tell him off with accusations. However, an incident occurred that infected the game’s server and many of the players online at that time with an anomaly called “AIDA.” AIDA infected her good friend Sirius, causing him to change his attitude towards everything and everybody, including her. He was acting violently crazed and obsessively fearful that his title as Holy Palace Emperor would be stripped away. Now matter how much Alkaid pleaded with him, her words did not reach his ears. She was starting to panic and was willing to do anything to get her dear friend back to normal. So she sought out Haseo and asked him for help to defeat Sirius in the arena. To her surprise, he accepted, and they trained and fought their way up in the ranks.

Over time, she grew to like Haseo romantically and even teased her rival, Atoli (their other team member in the arena), for his interests. Everything was fun and lighthearted in their group until Alkaid received a suspicious message detailing where to meet if she wanted to find out what was wrong with Sirius.

She emailed Haseo about the message and asked him to meet up with her, then set off to the area by herself. She was met by an AIDA-infected individual and was player-killed immediately. However, instead of the normal restart the killed players underwent, she found her character’s body disintegrating and her consciousness fading. Before her real self fell into a coma, Haseo arrived to hear her final words.

It was afterwards that she found herself in the metropolis of Manhattan.
